STELLATE GANGLION BLOCKS

The stellate ganglion technique is one of the oldest pain management techniques prescribed by doctors around the world. It helps in dealing with pain present in the upper half of the spinal cord. The medication is injected through the neck into the sympathetic nervous system, which is located on either side of the voice box.

Local anesthetic is injected to help reduce the pain occurring in the upper extremities of the body, though steroids are added at times for lasting effects. The session only takes a few minutes to be completed.

Sedation medication might be used by our experts depending on the tolerance of the patient. However, the area is numbed using numbing medication through a thin needle after which the main block needle is injected. This technique is commonly referred to patients with RSD, CRPS, Herpes Zoster, etc.
